Office History

Cornerstone Dental was established in 1964 by Dr. Philip Bellomio. A Rochester native, he opened his office in a small building located at 465 Stone Road in the town of Greece.

Starting from scratch, he built a thriving practice until his untimely death on June 6, 1977. Dr. Anthony Colaruotolo took over the office two months later, becoming the youngest solo-practitioner in Monroe County at the age of 25.

The practice grew after the retirement of Dr. Joseph Costanza, as many of his patients became patients of Dr. Colaruotolo's. This growth propelled the expansion of our 465 Stone Road facility in 1986.

Dr. Richard Sprague joined us in 1991, bringing along a following of patients which we still enjoy treating today. In 1994, Dr. Daniel Palermo joined us with a strong contingent of family, friends and patients. Subsequently, with the addition of Dr. Palermo, the office was renamed Cornerstone Dental (play on words as it sat on the corner of Stone Road).

With two full-time doctors, we were able to increase our hours and services. The growth led to our new location at 3770 Mt. Read Boulevard in 2004. We relocated less than a mile from our previous office in order to continually serve our loyal neighborhood patients.

In 2007, Dr. Marc Malatesta joined the practice after completing his dental education in Buffalo, NY and Philadelphia, PA. A Rochester native, and a long time patient of Cornerstone Dental, he brings with him current, up-to-date treatment philosophies and a strong commitment to the community.

In 2008, Dr. Michael Andolina and his staff merged with the Cornerstone Dental family after 37 years of private practice. He has enjoyed a long career in helping the Greece community through the years and brings with him many loyal patients, family, and friends.

Our state-of-the-art facility has easy access, ample parking and is handicap friendly. The reception area features a children's play area and two flat panel TVs. All nine of our treatment rooms feature overhead monitors which can display, at the touch of a button, digital X-rays and pictures, DVD presentations on various dental procedures, satellite radio, or cable TV for your viewing during dental treatment.

Appointments

The time scheduled for your appointment has been reserved specifically for you. We are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require cancelling an appointment, however, we request that you kindly give us 24-hours notice if you need to cancel and re-schedule. After missing your second appointment without notifying us 24 hours in advance, you may be subject to a missed appointment fee.

Insurance

Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Your estimated patient portion is expected to be paid at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance. As a service to our patients, we will bill insurance companies for services provided, however, it is ultimately your responsibility to see that the entire balance is paid-in-full regardless of any insurance reimbursements. Cornerstone Dental maintains a “no balances carried” policy and full payment is due in a timely fashion. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate as our courteous staff is always available to help.
